All student participating is music activities after school MUST be collected from the music room when the club finishes. Please be mindful with regards to the end of club pick up times. I often have my own commitments after school.  When you are late collecting your children from clubs, I am late for my own commitments & appointments.

String Instruments – Some of my string instruments are being returned with damaged zippers.  It is VERY important that the zippers are fully opened, all the way round the case before the case is actually opened.  When the both the zippers are broken, there is nothing to hold the instrument securely in the case and that instrument can no longer be allowed out on loan.

The Music Clubs filled very quickly and are now closed to new enrollments. Club fees are due – thank you to those parents that have already paid. The fee is a contribution for the Music Department, which will pay for the club t-shirts, club supplies, and music department needs, as well as being put towards smart black concert stands for school performances.

Guitar Grooves: Please look in the guitar tab of the blog. Beg – Plucking the individual strings & playing Yellow submarine & Okey Pokey with the chords G7 & C, Get Up Stand Up & Eleanor Rigby. Adv – Ode To Joy.

Advanced Orchestra – Tzena
If you wish you child to borrow an instrument you are required to complete the instrument loan agreement that you can find here and a weekly practice log to confirm that they are practicing – practice means progress. See the Little Monkey & Bow holds – touching bows to string, rock the boat etc.

Instrument loans through school are free of charge from Friday afternoon to Monday morning, all loaned instruments must be returned by 8am Monday morning so that they are available for other students to use.
Please consider renting or purchasing an instrument to enable a daily practice routine, for rentals I am suggesting Harmony Music Company, they are local to Chula Vista and they have a good range of quality student instruments. They are offering a ‘reduced deposit deal’. Informational flyers will be sent home. Please e-mail me to ask if you wish to check on the size of the instrument your child requires.
